I Hear the Feet of Rain Approaching #2

Art is the distinguishing expression that identifies us as human.

My art is a process of engaged reflection. My forms are inspired by the organic and hint to the Native American influences I saw as a child growing up in Pipestone MN. My objective is to critique and observe the emotional and nonphysical connections that I experience in and around me. I layer and combine mark making, texture, color and form to create a visual rendering of the intangible. I approach my mark making as a visual vocabulary, a non-verbal communication bridge offered to invite and challenge the viewer to proceed into my work emotionally. Through a daily practice of art making, I search for what makes an entity, feeling, idea or rhythm “Live”, and explore that in my art.
